Write in Rome
April 19-24, 2026
“Oh Rome! my country! city of the soul!”
— Lord Byron
The Experience
Where: Rome When: April 19-24, 2026
Each morning after breakfast we’ll begin with gentle movement to wake the body and open the creative channels. We then settle into our workshop session, a focused stretch of time to generate new work, follow ideas, and engage with the city through writing and shared practice. A beautiful catered lunch follows.
Afternoons are open. You can explore, wander, visit museums, or find a quiet corner to keep writing. We are happy to accompany you or offer a curated mini itinerary so you can discover the city at your own pace.
On select evenings we gather again to share pages, listen, and reflect on the day. Other nights are yours to enjoy Rome. For dinners not included in the retreat, though you will receive personally vetted restaurant recommendations for every neighborhood.
All workshops are optional. If you’re deep in your writing, feel fret slip away and bring a plate back to your room.
What’s included:
• Six (6) days/five (5) nights in a beautiful villetta tucked into the heart of Trastevere, one of Rome’s most storied neighborhoods
• Continental breakfast each morning and catered lunches that keep you happily nourished and writing
• A welcome dinner to gather us, a farewell feast to send us off
• All workshops, salons, and shared creative sessions
• Plenty of laughter, maybe a few tears, and more than a little magic
